Sonja van Graan
Leading Optometrist
Meet our lead optometrist, Sonja van Graan. With over 32 years in the field, Sonja brings a wealth of experience to our practice. She started her career in Polokwane, where she worked part-time and lectured at the University of the North. Sonja then moved to Mpumalanga and became the first optometrist in the Lower Liwveld, including Malelane and Komatipoort.
Before settling in Hartenbos in 2010, Sonja ran a thriving practice in Guateng’s East Rand area, which she successfully sold in 2021. Her dedication to delivering exceptional, personalsied service is fueled by her own experiences with vision challenges, making her deeply empathetic to the needs of our clients. Sonja is married to her university sweetheart, and they have two adult children who have since flown the coop.
Christina Dykstra
Practice Manager
Meet Christina Dykstra, the heartbeat of our practice since its inception in 2013. Her blend of passion and genuine care makes everyone who walks through our doors feel instantly welcomed. Over the past decade, Christina has been a cornerstone of our success, consistently going above and beyond to solve even the most challenging problems–whether it's a tiny screw adjustment or a frame repair.
Never one to become complacent, Christina is committed to growth. She actively participates in staff training programs crafted by the Dynamic Vision group, consistently standing out for her performance. Outside the office, Christina cherishes her life as a loving wife of nine years to her high school sweetheart and as the doting mom to their son.
Salomie Coetzee
Receptionist
Meet Salomie Coetzee, a fantastic addition to our team since 2021. With an impressive 11-year track record in optics, Salomie knows the ins and outs of eye care like the back of her hand. Her warm and engaging nature makes it easy for her to understand your needs and preferences, helping us better serve you.
Salomie is more than just our receptionist; she's a relationship builder who loves nothing more than seeing our clients leave with a smile. A proud member of the Mossel Bay community for 25 years, she's not just serving clients but neighbours, friends, and family. Salomie is happily married and a proud parent to two children.
